Aditi
Aditi is a stunning blend of gentle lavender, purifying, mossy green sage and earthy patchouli, with a hint of citrus.
Aditi, which means 'boundless' is a slightly understated fragrance that is rejuvenating and relaxing.
Like all the other Mother's India Fragrances, it is hand rolled with a resin called halmaddi, which gives it its earthy sweetness and makes the incense sticks soft to the touch.
One of the images on the left shows the wonderful Delphine, one of the ladies who roll The Mother's India Fragrances incense by hand, with love.
Bhakti
Bhakti is an exquisite fragrance of mellowed rose, crowned with sweet and spicy geranium and irresistible tuberose.
The rose in this incense is muted and shares its freshness and softness with the exotic scent of aged patchouli and with a woody undertone from Himalayan cedar wood.
A divine fragrance, full of devotion. Our Indian friends say that Bhakti attracts love and who would we be to argue with that?
Chandra
Aromatic resinous frankincense and grounding cedarwood with hints of sensuous jasmine and opulent oudh.
A clear and stunning fragrance that has found a large number of fans very quickly.
Dhyana
Dhyana, meaning meditation, is a fragrance with rich oriental notes of frankincense, mystic benzoin and sacred sandal.
As its name suggests, a fragrance very suitable for meditation.
If you like the resinous tone in this fragrance, you may also like 'Chandra' in this range. For a lighter frankincense, try 'frankincense' in our Mother's Fragrances range
Ganesh
Ganesh is a masterpiece, rich and sumptuous, feminine and happy.
An exceptionally clean, well balanced and warm incense. Full of spicy and green notes of lavenders, with hints of rose and rosemary, and drying down to a warm and sensuous note of patchouli and amber.
Our most popular fragrance and for good reason..
This is how one critic put it:
"Ganesh is virtually one of the finest durbars to have been created by human hand, it’s a triumph of the incense making art.(....) It’s so rich, decadent and astonishingly good that even one stick will have one reeling in amazement that one could hit such a perfect match of ingredients. Every incense lover owes themselves a treat such as this".
We won't argue with that.
Om
Om is an 'aromatic nirvana' of cassia, vanilla and amber, and has become a firm favourite with friends of The Mother's India Fragrances.
It is well balanced with opening notes of sweet and soft vanilla, followed by richer notes of the Champa flower, and supported by intense amberlike base notes, sweet and spicy cassia and warm balsams.
Earthy and grounding, and true to its name, it is perfectly suited for meditation and contemplation.
Om has a well-deserved place in Olfactory Rescue Service's 'Hall of Fame'.
For a lighter version of Om, you might like to try 'Amber'
Sattva
Sattva is a luxurious woody and floral fragrance with a touch of fruits and spices. Its natural sweetness is enhanced by gentle heliotrope and vanilla, with a cleanliness of fragrance brought on by the green touches of cyclamen and lily of the valley.
Sattva is a modern fragrance, bold and confident yet balanced and pure. Strong like the other India Fragrances, and very well suited for meditation.
Shanti
Nag Champa. With a woody base, and blended beautifully with rose and jasmine, this fragrance has its roots in the traditional temple fragrance of India, and is reminiscent of the classic Nag Champa incense of old.
It is based on the sweet and delicate aroma of the Indian golden Champa flower, also known as the flower of paradise. Shanti is ideal for use in meditation or for unwinding and relaxing.
If you love 'shanti', we recommend you also try the 'lakshmi' in our 'online only' range, and if you would like to futher explore the classic temple fragrance in our range, try 'mauna' and 'veda' too.
